President Donald Trump on Wednesday night tweeted that he’d sign the bill as part of a package that will boost U.S. job creation.
The $1,600 bill will be a major legislative win for Trump and his party, whose efforts have been focused on cutting regulations and boosting domestic investment, Trump said.
The White House said it’s unclear when the president will sign the measure.
It’s expected to be signed into law by the end of the week.
The legislation will also increase the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour, and provide $200 billion for job training.
The bill also calls for the government to spend $1.3 trillion to make college more affordable for millions of students.
