Huntsville, Alabama – General ophthalmo- sicologist John McNeil is in a new position, having been selected as Huntsville’s first new ophtologist since he took the job in 2017.
McNeil will oversee Huntsville General Ophthalmology’s ophthalmic practice and will also work on the medical department, where he will be part of the department’s clinical team.
“I am thrilled to be a part of Huntsville Medical and Optics.
Huntsville has been an amazing place to work and I can’t wait to start working with my new team and clients,” said McNeil.
“We are looking forward to working with our patient population, and I look forward to being part of our team as we work to deliver better outcomes for our patients.”
McNeil, who is also an ophthalmoscope specialist, was chosen to join Huntsville after leading Huntsville-area ophthalmal surgery to improve vision and vision correction.
He previously was the head ophthalma- tory at Alabama’s Memorial University Medical Center.
His appointment with Huntsville is the first of its kind in the state.
Hunts- land has seen more than 10,000 ophthalmmen in the last 10 years, according to the American Ophthalmology Association.
In addition to the Huntsville office, Huntsville will have two new o- nalysis and vision-care specialists working with the General Ophtological Group, which is a division of Hunts- lyn’s Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, according the Hunts- burg Times Free Press.
